Get to Know the Artist

Hi!  My name is Cindy.  I started making these crushed glass pictures in 2025, when a store owner asked me if I could make a picture of a wave, with resin.  I had been trying to sell her my sea glass necklaces to put into her store and I thought her request for a resin picture was way above my skills!  I told her no I couldn't make that, and she looked so sad and disappointed!

When I got home I started thinking, "how hard could it be?"  So I watched a few videos and tried hard to get over my fear of working with resin, and wal-la!  I made the picture of the wave and then it morphed into all these other designs.  My pictures are constantly changing and improving as I try different things.

My husband and I moved to Ventura in 2018, after living in the Antelope Valley for over 25 years!  I love living by the ocean and we soon discovered the fun of going "sea glass hunting".  It is like trick or treating for adults.  Then one day we looked at all the sea glass we had collected and asked ourselves what we were going to do with all of it?  That's when I taught myself how to make sea glass necklaces and earrings.  Which then morphed into making outdoor mobiles with a beach theme.  I did my first craft show in 2020 and was hooked!  People liked my stuff!  :)  I was so surprised it encouraged me to keep going and create more items.  Then I fell in love with these crushed glass pictures and the necklaces and mobiles were tossed aside so I could focus on these.
